The Jet d’Eau

The emblematic symbol of Geneva, built in 1891, was not originally intended as a monument. This water jet reaches heights of up to 140 meters and can be admired from various points in the city, especially from the lake’s quays. The Jet d’Eau is particularly impressive at sunset when its reflections shimmer on the water.

Saint Peter’s Cathedral

If you love architecture, you will be delighted. Since around 380 AD, this cathedral has stood over the city. Located in Old Geneva, it even houses remnants from the Roman era, as evidenced by the archaeological site’s façade. If you’re looking for something different, the Russian Church, the Beth-Yaacov Synagogue, or Geneva’s Mosque might also captivate you.

The Conservatory and the Geneva Botanical Garden

We could have recommended the Palais des Nations, but since our flights operate in the summer, what we truly appreciate during this season is nature—lush greenery, fragrant flowers, enchanting landscapes, fresh air, observing wildlife, and strolling through a paradise-like setting while gazing at the distant Alps.

Activities not to miss in Geneva

Getting bored in Geneva? We challenge you to try. Here are some activities not to miss during your stay.

The Reformation Wall

Immerse yourself in Geneva’s history at Bastions Park with this tribute to the fathers of Calvinism and reformers of Helvetia. Learn about the creation of this unique city and, more broadly, Switzerland.

Look up

Yes, Geneva is meant to be appreciated from top to bottom. As previously mentioned, the city is (without exaggeration) full of artistic and architectural marvels. The Smurf Houses (yes, really), the Molard Tower, giant chessboards on the ground, basilicas, and other religious structures.

Eat Swiss milk chocolate

If there’s one food the Swiss are famous for, it’s chocolate. But let’s be honest, David Castello-Lopes probably explains it much better than we do, so we’ll let you laugh and learn why Swiss chocolate has such a stellar reputation.

Place Bourg du Four

Located in Old Geneva, Place Bourg du Four is a charming square reminiscent of village squares, with its central fountain and surrounding shops. This central square connects Old Town, Bastions Park, the city center, and the lakefront.

Going to work?

For some, going to work can feel like a chore, but for certain Swiss people, it can be quite an experience. Imagine leaving work, jumping into the river, and letting the current carry you home. Well, that happens in Switzerland! Okay, not in Geneva, but in Bern—but it’s impressive enough to mention.
