The Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and located in the heart of Piazza Duomo, Florence’s Duomo towers over the city and is an absolutely impressive cathedral. It owes its nickname, Duomo, to Filippo Brunelleschi, the architect responsible for its immense dome.
Enjoy a spectacular view from the cathedral’s heights—if you have the courage to climb its more than 400 steps.
