The Fesch Museum, art and influence

The Mediterranean coastline and its tourist sites

Now that we have talked about its history, it is impossible to mention Corsica without highlighting its unique environment. Our advice: explore! Between the sea, islands, and mountains, Corsica has many secrets to reveal.

The Scandola Nature Reserve

A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Scandola Nature Reserve is a rare gem of biodiversity. Accessible only by boat, this protected site is perfect for admiring the red porphyry cliffs and enjoying the turquoise sea in an exceptional setting.

The Calanques de Piana

Impressive ochre rock formations, the Calanques de Piana offer a delight for hikers and photographers. This unique site, sculpted by erosion and time, provides spectacular panoramas that will make you appreciate Corsica’s stunning setting.

Capo di Feno, between beach & scrubland

Located a few kilometers from Ajaccio, Capo di Feno Beach is a haven surrounded by Corsican scrubland. Spending a day here for relaxation is well worth it—crystal-clear waters and a wild atmosphere await. For surf enthusiasts, there are also some great waves.

The Grand Sire of La Parata & the Sanguinaires Islands

You know that feeling when you look at the sunset sky and think, “That’s not bad”? Well, that’s what awaits you—but even better.
How to describe this iconic site? A setting sun offering a breathtaking view of the red rocks of the Sanguinaires Islands, reflecting on the water. The best way to experience it is to see it for yourself (we’ve included a small preview below).

The Best Places to Eat in Ajaccio

Of course, Corsica means local gastronomy. With Italian influences, you can enjoy a mix of land and sea flavors. Here are three great places that will delight your taste buds.

For the most modest budgets, and given Corsica’s Italian influence, U Papacionu. A pizzeria established in 1999. Thin-crust Roman-style, the tomato sauce is delicious, the pizzas are both classic and creative, all in one of the city’s typical streets near the seafront. But be sure to book in advance, as they are often fully booked.

In the Brasserie category, Brasserie L’Instant, where classic cuisine is revisited by passionate chefs, but above all, the plates are very original, with great vegetarian options (for example, imagine an ice cream scoop in your main course). For €20-30, you should be full.

If you don’t mind crowds, venture to Le 20123, specializing in traditional Corsican cuisine. You will dine in a setting that is just as traditional (to be honest, it’s quite indescribable, so original), this place is a true institution.

Looking for a balance between a savory and refined dinner? L’Écrin is made for you. A seasonal Mediterranean restaurant with a constantly evolving menu. Bistronomic in style, but flirting with gastronomic cuisine. Absolutely make a reservation!

Finally, if your budget allows and you love adventure, Le Petit Restaurant, run by chef Vincent Boucher and awarded in the Michelin Guide, offers a mystery gourmet menu designed to awaken your taste buds through local and seasonal ingredients. Expect to spend around €100 for a multi-course gourmet dinner, reservations required.
